Cryptographic verification is mandatory for security. WeTheNorth signs all legitimate mirrors with its PGP private key. Users should:

1. Import the market's Public PGP Key into your GPG keychain.
2. Copy the signed message from the login page.
3. Verify the signature using your PGP software.

A valid signature guarantees you are communicating with the actual server and not an imposter.

Tor network latency and DDoS attacks can cause temporary timeouts. If the primary link is unresponsive, cycle through the verified mirrors listed on the Links page. Ensure your system clock is perfectly synchronized, as time drift can prevent Tor circuits from building correctly.

The market accepts both Bitcoin (BTC) and Monero (XMR).

Monero (XMR) is strongly recommended. Unlike Bitcoin, where the ledger is transparent and traceable, Monero utilizes ring signatures, stealth addresses, and RingCT to completely obfuscate the sender, receiver, and transaction amount. For maximum financial privacy, XMR is the industry standard.

All transactions are protected by Escrow. Funds are held in a neutral market wallet and are not released to the vendor until the buyer confirms receipt (Finalize).

Auto-Finalization Timers:

• Digital Goods: 48 hours
• Physical Goods: 14 days

Buyers must monitor these timers. If an order has not arrived, utilize the "Extend Escrow" button or open a dispute before the timer expires.

Each user is assigned a unique deposit address on the market. Deposits require 2 confirmations (BTC) or 10 confirmations (XMR) before crediting. We recommend generating a new address for every deposit to prevent address reuse analysis. Withdrawals are processed to external addresses provided by the user, minus network mining fees.

WeTheNorth operates on a strict minimized-data architecture. We do not log IP addresses, login times, or page views. Private messages and order details are automatically purged from the database after a set retention period following finalization. Your data safety is paramount.

Users should upload a PGP public key immediately upon registration. This enables Two-Factor Authentication (2FA), requiring you to decrypt a random message to log in. This renders password theft useless. Furthermore, all sensitive shipping data must be encrypted with the vendor's PGP key before submission.

To maintain market integrity, all vendor applicants must pay a non-refundable bond. Established vendors from other markets may apply for a bond waiver (proven reputation required). All vendors must enable PGP 2FA and undergo a verification interview with administration to demonstrate domestic shipping capability.

The following items are strictly banned. Listing them results in immediate account termination and forfeiture of funds:

• CP / Human exploitation material
• Hitman / Violent services
• Poisons / toxins
• Terrorism-related intelligence

Disputes are adjudicated by market staff. Moderators review chat logs, shipping evidence, and user history. Decisions are final. Warning: Attempting to take communication off-market (Telegram, Signal, Wickr) voids all escrow protection and is grounds for an immediate ban.
